Stereoscopic 3D aims at creating the illusion of depth when watching a movie.
To achieve this effect, the principle is to shoot the same scene from two different angles: the result is the so called left and right images.
To view the 3D effect, it is required that the viewer’s left eye sees only the left image and the right eye only the right image. Several techniques exist to achieve it: most of them require the viewer to wear glasses in order to watch the content (anaglyph, polarized or shutter glasses). The brain is then making the rest of the job in order to rebuild the 3D feeling.
Doing good 3D requires a very special know-how: it is not only about filming with two video cameras, it is about finding the right set-up to achieve the best depth effect without eye strains.
That’s what 3D-Mansion is good at.
